Why we're different
DataCenter.BZ is unique in many ways. From our true carrier neutrality that provides freedom of choice to clients, to our attention to detail in the design of the 99.99999% uptime facility, you will see many differences compared to other data centers.
- We offer 4 power sources: Dual utility feeds and dual generator backup using two, 2.0MW Cat generators.
- Our data center was designed as a telecom facility – it isn’t an office building with windows, etc. The building is a single-story construction with a standing seam metal roof, 22’ ceilings for optimal air-flow, and will withstand hurricane force winds in excess of 145 MPH.
- The current power density is 500+ watts per square foot.
- Just like our carrier neutrality, clients are given the opportunity to work with various managed service providers to ensure they receive exactly the services needed. If a client isn’t happy with their managed service provider, they can change companies without changing data centers and interrupting their network. It’s a simplistic approach that truly benefits the client.
- DataCenter.BZ designed its facilities to be as green as possible. This minimizes the amount of energy used to cool the energy load of the equipment within the data center.
- Meeting the extreme power needs of our clients is not an obstacle at DataCenter.BZ Fifty-percent of current data centers will be obsolete by 2010 due to insufficient power and cooling capacity required to run new equipment such as blade servers, supercomputers, and storage arrays (SANs).
- Most of the telecom transport carriers, cell phone carriers, local cable companies and IP carriers are located on the DataCenter.BZ property. Typically, datacenters only have one or two carriers on-site and can't give their customers the freedom to shop for the best IP prices, or the luxury of having three or four carriers to ensure redundancy.
- DataCenter.BZ only charges $50/month for a cross connect to any service provider enabling any customer to buy services directly from the service provider (even $50 a month for a dark fiber cross connect). This gives the customer the ease and flexibility to change and add services without having to move their equipment. This is totally different from what a customer would experience at a carrier's data center.
- A typical problem in a data center is humidity control, which usually wastes power to control humidity. A non-condensing cooling design was build into DataCenter.BZ.
- DataCenter.BZ offers "7 - 9's" of uptime (99.99999) with its power design, which is part of the company's non-stop service offering. As part of the power design, the data center has diverse utility power feeds and N+1 back-up generators.
